What is reversion?
Reversion occurs every time the non-stick coating is exposed to high heat, which breaks apart the bond between metal and coating; when this happens during cooking, some pieces may stick on the surface, so simply wipe with a paper towel if you notice any residue sticking on your pot after cooking. You can also restore non-stick surfaces by washing in a dishwasher or cleaning while still hot immediately after each use.

Is waterless cookware dishwasher safe?
Yes, however, make sure that no moisture gets inside the lid during washing as it is normal for some steam to escape each time you open the pot to take out food. To wash waterless Cookware in the dishwasher, simply place a pot with lid attached into the hot dishwasher and all other dirty dishes; when done, it’s best practice to leave pots and pans inside until next use heat remains inside, which will help kill germs faster.
How much pressure should I use when cooking?
When using Instant Pot Duo60 – the maximum pressure allowed is 10.2psi, or build-up to 15psi then release excess pressure naturally by turning the valve from sealing position to venting position (red line at center) waiting for the pin in the pressure regulator to drop (around 7 seconds) then open lid and remove food.
How can I keep the drip from sticking on my Instant Pot?
Drip is removed simply by wiping with a paper towel immediately after removing meats or vegetables from the pot. However, if residue remains, you can also add fresh water to the base of your pot together with one tablespoon of oil before sealing, heat will do the rest as it melts down any remaining drip. It’s important not to attempt wiping inside the lid when hot as this may cause damage.
What is a natural release?
A natural release occurs when all pressure has been released during the cooking process. Still, food continues steaming for several minutes afterward, which ensures that your meal is cooked thoroughly without causing damage to the walls of the cooker. Once the pin in the pressure regulator has dropped, make sure to open the lid slowly to release any excess steam before removing food.
What is a quick release?
A quick-release occurs when pressure is released during the cooking process by turning the valve from the sealing (red line) to the venting position (red line at center). As soon as all of the steam has been released, the opening lid will be much faster. However, some foods such as vegetables do not require high levels of heat, so it’s best practice to do a natural release before opening your cooker instead.
Are meats done in Instant Pot Duo60 after 60 minutes?
Most types of meat require only 1 hour or less to fully cook through so long you press start and use recommended temperatures; every piece of meat is different, so it’s best practice to always check the temperature. You should do a natural release before opening the lid, as this will help reduce pressure faster than using a quick release.
Do I need any extra equipment to cook in a waterless pot?
Can Instant Pot Duo60 be used on induction stovetops? No, the equipment can be used for cooking in Instant Pot Duo60, such as tongs or slotted spoon – however, we recommend not using metal utensils when cooking with non-stick coating.
Also, never cut up food before placing it inside the cooker, as this may cause damage over time due to excess heat exposure while the cooking process takes place. Yes, however, your pot mustn’t exceed 10.2psi of pressure. Otherwise, it will damage your pot and cause health risks, so make sure that you keep the temperature under control to avoid such occurrences.
What is the difference between using high, low, or warm settings?
High heat is recommended for boiling liquids or cooking food with sugars; however, it’s important not to use high if cooking delicate meats like beef which need a low setting in order to fully cook through without burning; on the other hand, a warm setting should be used if you are waiting for another pot to finish cooking in order for both pots to come up to temperature at the same time thus sharing heat and saving energy.
Care and Cleaning Instructions for Your Waterless Cookware.
Use only non-abrasive cleaners and/or soft cloths. Bakelite will resist stains from most household chemicals. However, a baking soda and water mixture can be used to clean spills or stains on bottom surfaces. Baking soda is also recommended for cleaning stainless steel “stay cool” handles. A soft brush can be used to remove residue that food items leave on the inside surface, around covers, and lid inserts.
Do not use coarse abrasives, steel wool pads, or oven cleaners. If necessary for removing burned-in food items or hard water scale (calcium) deposits, manufacturers recommend the following: Use only a plastic scrubbing pad – scour kitchen sink area well before using Instant Pot Duo60 as redeposited food residue may cause damage to cooker. It is also recommended that you use “soft” water for cleaning purposes.
Do not use strong detergents or oven cleaners. If necessary, pour 1/2 cup (125 milliliters) of trisodium phosphate (TSP) in Instant Pot Duo60 and fill to maximum level with cold water; let stand 20 minutes and then empty the pot and rinse thoroughly. Do not use this procedure more than once per year, as TSP can leave a white film on metal parts if used too often.
Waterless Cookware has become very popular and widely used in households worldwide as it uses a combination of water and heat to cook food. It is safe for all cooking surfaces if used properly – however, you do need to be careful about cleaning your pot regularly so as not to damage its non-stick coating due to the usage of abrasive cleaners.
Also, remember that you should never use an empty cooker without water inside, or your pot may be over-pressurized, causing damage over time; if you are unsure as to what setting your preferred meal needs, remember that meat will require low pressure while boiling liquids such as pasta, rice, vegetables, etc. will require high pressure.
